I worked out at the Coast Guard base for a few days in Hilo, maybe in '07. I lived on Oahu for 18 months in '92 - '93.

Each island has its own culture. Oahu is very modern compared to the other islands, the Big Island is very rural, but protected from the main stream events like COVID, since most everything goes through Oahu to get here. But the Big Island does have the most active Volcano..

When I was out there I took my girlfriend, who became my wife, and we went out and looked at the lava spitting up one night. Yes The Big Isla is different than Oahu. I loved being called haole when I lived there.

13.8KV or 13800 volts of the alternating current kind.

Now my friend is an electrician and he was telling me that if someone is getting electrocuted you take a running tackle to save them,my question is if you get buzzed by 14k what do you do besides watch him sizzle like bacon? I imagine just watch them sizzle...

Internally you will cook and where the current goes to ground you will now have a big chared hole or that part of your body will be missing.

Nice. My mother in law has had hers and a co-worker as well.

Lets hear it for Texas. In two weeks lets see their numbers go up 10 fold.

That reminds me of the time I had a cow get struck by lightning while it was standing in the slough,it fell apart when I grabbed it with the loader, like it was cooked in a crockpot. Easier for the coyotes to eat.

My wife had her first shot today and got a reaction to it. Face swelling and red and feels like her eye is going to swell shut. She took some benedryl. See what happens

Sorry to hear about your wife's reaction. I hope she's doing better now.

I got my first jab of the Moderna vaccine on 2/19 with few side effects. That was a Friday afternoon and I had some mild flu-like symptoms and headache Friday night and all-day Saturday. Sunday, I woke up feeling fine. My second appointment is on 3/19. From what I've read, the reaction is usually stronger on the second shot. They say that's a "good" thing because it shows that your immune system is working right. I don't know about that but I'm no expert. Good luck.

Played my Blueshawk yesterday, she was exceptional but showing signs of needing new strings. So today she's getting her wish, guitars with tremolos work so much better with new strings. Our multi iPad recording guy is refining his techniques and we may have something worth showing soon. My Blueshawk feels incredible with new strings, have to make sure I change them more often and not get sidetracked with my other new guitars.

Mara’s confirmation today. Back was killing me sitting on the hard wooden benches too long. Smoked a Lucky Strike and headed out to eat. Came home took a nap, went out and did cattle chores. Go over to a friend’s house tonight and play guitar later.

I worked outside in the back woods, the yard, and in the garden.
Just about all day.

A gorgeous day it was.

I also cranked up the Beat Buddy and sussed-out AC DC's You Shook Me All Night Long, in the music room.

Man, that was a fun romp.
😬

I've never seen the other islands, Deb & I went to Oahu on our Honeymoon November 1977 and we had a great time. I'd love to go back some year. No trying to surf this time, Haha.

Sorry to hear that about the wife.

I only know of a couple of people who have had it so far, no reactions.  Guess I'll see what, if anything, it does to me.

Deb's aunt had both shots, is in her 80's , also Deb & I both got our first one with no problems at all. Our 2nd shot is scheduled for the 18 in 11 more days.  My left shoulder was just a tad sore that first night and Deb's too she said.  No different than the flu shot.  Today, I changed strings on the Jaguar and the bridge is the original vintage one which is crap.  The strings wont stay in the slots so I ordered a Mustang bridge for it.  Looks much better. Then I will finish setting it up.

Is that beat buddy good Sparky? I thought about getting one?  I played the Jaguar and the Casino today, Deb was at her friends house sewing, They both do quilts so it was a great time to get some playing time in and crank up the amp.

I have the Beat Buddy Mini, with the accessory foot pedal.
I like it.

On the main module you can select/activate the song style, variations, and tempo. Volume too.
One foot tap on the go-button gets it started, and then after that, one foot tap adds a fill.
One long foot press transitions over to a chorus deviation, usually with ride cymbal, and then so back to the main rhythm.
Two foot taps ends each rhythm with a flourish ending.

On the accessory foot pedal you can add a crash cymbal effect, or even mute the output.

Each drum pattern has it's own 'intro', and that temporary mute button can be just the thing, in case their factory intro doesn't suit the song.

It's really useful for working on songs when the drummer can't come over.
I suppose that if you were really well-practiced up on it, you could go do gigs without a drummer.

But then again without a drummer, who would spill beer all over the back of the stage, and then go home with all the chicks?
😉

That sounds like a good day, except for your back. Congratulations to Mara.

It's 9:28 am right now where I am, so outside of coming online and making a few posts here and there I haven't done anything yet.  But I'm going to my dentist at noon,   Y'all try to contain your excitement at this news, eh?  [laugh]

This was actually a couple days ago, but I listened to 3/4 of Radiohead's "OK Computer".

Errrr... No.

I listen to 0/4 of that album and anything by that band. Like U2, I just don't get them. And I listen to some terrible s-hit too.

I'd never listened to it before. To me, it was just meh. Bland meh.

U2 gets me agitated.

People and critics go stupid for Radiohead. The Edge can make his guitar go juga juga juga a lot through all the delays and processors he uses.
