Izzy
We all had to start somewhere, and we might not be proud of it, but... what was the first song you learned on guitar? NOT first riff or bit of a song....not first solo, although all that might have been incorporated. I mean the first song you learned start to finish. No cheating, no one starts Surfing With Aliens from the start! Ordinary World was my first *blushes

FirstMeasure
Either "House of the Rising Sun" or "Baby Please Don't Go". I learned them at the same time so it's hard to say which one was "First".

ksdaddy
First song taught to me was House of the Rising Sun. Shortly thereafter I learned the basics of Honky Tonk (Bill Doggett, 1956) on my own. I say the basics because I never did learn all the jazzy stuff in there. All done on a hand me down '72 Harmony archtop.

surfpup
I think it was either "Norwegian Wood" or "Me and Bobby McGee". I may have learned them at the same time. It was in a guitar course via local community ed. The teacher had a bunch of old folks and me (as a 15 year old kid) - good times.

Thundergod
"Patience" by Guns N Roses, I was an all acoustic player at the time. The first song I learned after upgrading to electric was "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N Roses too...
