Magnificent stuff!

The amount of invention required is equalled only by his skill as a player.

I was delighted to see he got the standing ovation the performance deserved.

The 6-y-old son of a friend is learning the Uke at an after-school club and I just know he'll be delighted to receive the link...

Thanks for posting, Notes!

My father played ukulele, but he never played it like that.

I inherited my father's uke, but I'll never play it like that either!

I'm not only impressed by this young man's technical ability, but his musical sensitivity as well.

I'm sure this won't be the last we hear of him.

He's not using the little one that's tuned with two high strings that go "My dog has fleas." <grin> That's with the bottom (as normally would be the lowest pitch) tuned an octave higher than would be expected.

The baritone uke - which I think is use here (???) is basically tuned as are the top four strings of a guitar. My Dad had a regular guitar before I was able to do much more than remember the thing in the attic, but later on got a baritone uke to chord on.

This is excellent playing regardless...

No doubt Jake is amazing! Maybe being born in Hawaii gives me some roots to the ukulele, I love the sound especially in Hawaiian music. Also Hawaiian slack key guitar. If you have never spent any time on the TED web site you should there are tons of inspiring speeches as well as music. Check it out.
