duane v
Whats crackin???? I've been on a little hiatus as my poor pops has been in and out of hospital the last three months, and is now back home with me (Hospice Care). He's in good spirits and I have been spending as much time as I can with him. The doctors and the case worker wanted to put him in a facility, but my dad was very against that because he's been living with me for the last three years. So we have nurse that stays with him six hours a day when we are at work, and I take care of him the rest of the day, and my siblings help share some of the responsibility so me and the wife can go do things together. I hope the holidays are going well for everyone.

kidblast
Hi Duane, Sorry to hear of your pops failing health, but God bless you all for helping him out like this. My dad had dementia and it had gotten pretty bad, spent his last days in a nursing home as 24 hour care is not something that comes easily. broke our hearts to know he was there every day. Guest
Glad you're getting to spend time with him. So important. I'm at the elderly parents age as well.

Mr. Gibson
Anybody want to care of me? I’m looking for options here.. I’ve got 26 guitars if that helps.

A very tempting offer, but it’s entirely too cold thereabouts. 😁
rct
Good deal. I did similar this year, May - June. It's a tough time, I feel your pain. This too will pass, know that you are doing the right thing. rct

Murph
It's a good thing and may God bless you for it. Both of mine have been gone a while. Ask as many family history questions as you can. That's stuff you'll wonder about once there is no-one left to ask...
fortyearspickn
I regret not spending more time with my parents in their final years. I suppose that most feel the same way. I wish some one had sat me down and explained it to me. But, 15 years ago, I may not have understood. Enjoy that game!
DanvillRob
Thank God you have him...and he has you. I understand your dad's wish to stay at home rather than a warehouse, I mean care facility. I certainly want to leave my home feet-first with a toe-tag on. Merry Christmas to you, your family and your dad.

Sgt. Pepper
I went out to California a few years back when my mom went into Hospice care. At the time I didn’t know what that meant, but found out quickly what was going to happen and what it meant. Sorry to hear about your father.
