Mr Jones - Counting Crows.

We recorded this track actually sometime back, and then forgot about it ...

But we would like to re-recorded it fully, right now it is only first chorus and verse, but would love to hear your feedack or suggestions before we record the full version.

We also play this out in the slower arpeggiated version that Counting Crows sometimes play, but actually i prefer this version.

Was recorded on my CW but we will probably have a go at it with the new SJ.. :-)

Thanks EuroAussie…that's nice!

The two Gibbys are a J-45 TV on the left and a J-45 Legend on the right.

The sound isn't very good because its recorded with a cheap compact camera…

Do you know some venues (cafés, clubs, etc.…) in praque where we can make a gig or two…;-)? Then we can visit praque for a weekend or a few days and met us there if you want.

Greetings,

Markus

Fantastic drathbun.

Did you film all those pieces on your own? Or did you have an assistant? (and a clapper to line the separate videos up).

And you are the editor? I have done a little bit of amateur editing in the past, so I have a bit of an idea how much work you have done!

Regards

BK.

Thanks BK! :)

I filmed the whole thing myself with my iPhone4. I have a small tripod mount for the iPhone and put it on my desk. Since you can't see the screen when you are taking a video of yourself, I put a small mirror behind the iPhone so I can see if I'm lined up. I used Cyberlink Power Director 9 to edit the pieces of video together. On this video as opposed to my others, I did NOT use the built in mic from the iPhone. The audio was recorded separately and mixed in Sonar Producer and I just dumped the audio from the iPhone and put the mixed audio from Sonar in place of it. So basically I am lip-synching to myself. I'm listening to my Sonar mix in my earphones and playing over it. I just did the same thing a number of times playing rhythm and singing, playing lead, bass and bopping on my Songwriter and cut the small segments in. I'm quite happy with the result and I'm going to try this with some of my other recordings too!

I just did another video with my recording of "Bad to Me" by Lennon and McCartney. The song was never recorded by The Beatles but was given to Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas to record. Apparently it wasn't good enough for The Beatles. I think it is superior to a number of their other early recorded songs. The SWD is only in on the first five chords.

I wrote this song about a week ago, played this song at my friend's funeral (the man in the song), so I have feedback from locals, but please let me know how this song strikes you, as you do not know the deceased. I played it at his funeral a few days ago, and wow, that was hard. He was a good guy. This was done on my Gibson Gospel and I really didn't flub up until about the next to last note, wouldn't you know it. But, doesn't matter, just a rough demo. Let me know how it sounds, too, as I am no expert recorder.

Thanks for feedback, good or bad.

Live music that really was touching, and it is astounding to me you could preform under those particular conditions. I am pretty positive were it me in such a situation about thirty seconds in it would just be a recording of me sobbing.

On a lighter note here is me battling with my weird voice for a rather unimpressive song.

(note it is very quiet I had to turn my speakers up almost all the way to hear it.)

Last Monday we participated in the Christchurch Earthquake fundraiser on the banks of the Vlatava River in Prague.

There were a number of bands including us doing our little covers, jsut as a two piece that day. It was a great event and several thousand dollars were raised from raffles and auctions.

Here is a video of us perfroming Use Somebody by Kings of Leon from the event.

Hope you enjoy it !

cheers,

Mark

sad.gifsad.gif That was so sad, but also so beautiful and your voice is so ghostly and heartfelt. Thanks for making me sad!

Another week, another YouTube video! This time it is a song that is my wife's favourite. It is from the album "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull, written by Ian Anderson and called "Wond'ring Aloud". It is one of my favourite songs to play as it has some great flatpicking licks. My Songwriter, my Rick bass, midi keys and strings and all recorded and mixed in Sonar X1.

First time for me on this thread I think. Here is Robbie Gladwell, Ashley Bartlett and myself playing Gibsons, Chet Atkins, J185 and Songwriter Deluxe respectively.

An old Zombies song inspired by hearing the great Paul Weller doing a cover of it, I heard on the radio a few months ago.

It's from my little handheld so the quality is not too good.
