SteveFord
I suppose so, even I am sick of making fun of their marketing department. When the new mgmt took over I started looking at their slimmed down line-up and really liked what they did. I wasn't planning on buying any guitars but then the pandemic hit and one thing led to another. I've always liked Les Pauls and was so impressed by the 50s neck Standards that I got curious about the 60s neck Standard so when I saw this one I caved. I'll also get to see if my theory about neck thickness and overall sound has any merit although they do have different pick ups. Enough babbling, here she be: I'm told that what looks like damage to the back is just reflection. Those pictures really illustrate just how difficult it is to photograph these things. It should be here next week and that should put paid to Les Pauls for me. Edited January 9, 2021 by SteveFord
Tman
Fantastic Steve, good on you. Really great looking LP. The 60's neck is my favorite, by far.
SteveFord
Thanks, that wood grain sucked me in, it has a little of everything going on. I know that the necks all vary a bit but the 50s necks are just a little bit more than I had bargained for. You get used to it but I see why they used to shave down the necks a bit. Now look how spoiled we are with all of the different profiles available.

SteveFord
That gal's butt need it's own Zip Code. You know you've overdone the plastic surgery when you go for a motorcycle ride and your a- s- s gets caught in the spokes. That top has all sorts of stuff going on - bear claw and the striping and then the ovals and the lines. I'm dying to see it in person. I better not get an empty box!!! So does a Gem lettuce have more or less tone than a Iceberg lettuce? I'll do a comparison study with my salad spinner later.
SteveFord
I know they used to sell Mood Rings, I wonder if they make Tone Rings? I don't want a weight relieved one, though.

01GT eibach
Wow - beautiful guitar. I love the top with that beautiful mix of flame and plain. How do you like it? Were there any issues/problems?
SteveFord
I won't see it until this Friday as it's in California right now. I kept futzing around and the seller had one on Reverb which sold and then I saw this other one he had on eBay and my beady little eyes popped out with an audible BOING! noise so I grabbed it before this one vanished as well. SteveFord
This should just about do it. I'm starting to feel like one of these weird guys you see on Hoarders. I blame it on Tone Derangement Syndrome, ha, ha.

I'll take a Martin 00 or 000-18 new or used, in good condition will do. I'll look after it and make sure it gets broken in correctly and I will of course keep it hydrated in the case when not in my hands. Damn how many did you get last year and now this new one. Like 7 or 8? Do they have a little blue pill for TDS? That's right you heard right tonight secret word is Mud Shark. Edited January 12, 2021 by Sgt.
