A plus that is going to work for you is the rosewood fret board. Hmmm.... I figure they can't be as bad as those awful low flat frets on Gibsons in the 70's..... Whoever was the fret dresser back in those days, they should have hid all his or her files. I've refretted all my 70's Gibsons.

efj2008
I have 3 Les Paul's and 4 Strats, all fine guitars.
Twang Gang
I mostly played Les Pauls and Gibson semi-hollows in the bands I was in over the years. But that being said I also almost always had a Strat for certain songs. To me there is a huge difference in the tone of a single coil Strat and a humbucker Les Paul. Most of the bands I played in had two guitar players and we almost always had one of us on a LP and the other on a Strat or Tele, just for the interaction of the different sounds. I never spent a lot on the Fenders I owned, I think they were all MIM. But they were quality instruments that stayed in tune, intonated well and I think you'll find it a useful tool. Looking forward to the NGD photos.

I know a couple of long-time, locally successful, regular gigging guitar players in the area that play MIM Strats. They love'em. I've got a garage sale MIJ Strat. If I ever buy a new Strat, I'll get an MIM.
saturn
Can't wait to see the pics Duane. Always room for a Strat in the collection. I know I miss having one.
Retired
I hardly ever played my Jaguar, I always wondered why it was called a Vintage Modified Jaguar? Came to find out it was the bridge being Vintage. It was crap. The strings sat on small saddles with lots of small groves in them and always moved left and right while playing and even popping off when I did string bends. So today, my new Mustang bridge arrived and is a lot better. I finished setting up the guitar down to pickup height my last step and plugged it in after I checked the tuning again. Much better and I believe it's a keeper again.
duane v
So the fffffFender arrived and I changed the strings and gave everything a good cleaning and polish... I'm a little paranoid these days, especially when other hands have been all over it. The guitar is in prestine condition, and it plays pretty good... I'm having a time figuring out whats up with the lack of strap buttons... theres only a chrome hole / bushing. ... It kinda has a 63 Jimi vide or Jeff Beck vibe to it.... overall for the price I'm contenet.

NighthawkChris
Wow that’s a real nice strat right there! I’m jealous haha! Congrats and enjoy for many years!
Mr. Natural
I like it, too. That's a good color on a Strat. Congratulations.
Rabs
The only thing its missing is a humbucker at the bridge 😛 🙂 Classic though.. And yeah, Rosewood fingerboard is the way to go too.. Happy playing
Twang Gang
That's a good looking Strat and not a color combination that I've seen before. No strap buttons is pretty weird, but you'd probably put strap locks on it anyway. The large headstock doesn't bother me at all. Have fun 👍

merciful-evans
Well its a fine looking one for sure. Also approve of the SSS pickups; might as well get the full flavour experience. The 22 frets are sensible though. I could never go back to 21 frets. Very tidy guitar. 👍
Dub-T-123
Like Rabs I just cannot get into Strats as a player. But aesthetically this one looks awesome and looks like it has a nice G&G case too
Bronx
This is my go to electric, a 2001 MIM. Real easy to play, the only issue I had was buzzy pickups before I shielded the cavity.

Sgt. Pepper
I owned these: American Deluxe, American Series (really a Standard but they were not calling it Standard then), and an American Standard.
