MrNylon
What was your first concert you attended? Don't be shy, or ashamed. If it was The Monkees, The Cowsills, or even Tiny Tim, we don't care. My first concert was Blood Sweat And Tears when I was in high school.

IanHenry
My first concert was Mott the Hoople at Blackburn here in the U.K. My older sister took me along, but I can’t remember what year. They were supported by an unknown band called Queen. I can distinctly remember Freddie Mercury singing Jail House Rock and Hey Big Spender! As a kid it made me want to play the electric guitar. Ian. Twiz
Chuck Berry. Point State Park in Pittsburgh. It was maybe 1979 or 1980...I dunno, I was about 3 or 4 years old. One of my earliest memories is him duck-walking across the stage. So cool.
MrNylon
Hi IanHenry; that's incredible. One of my daughter's high school teachers told me her mother took her to see the Monkees at Shea Stadium in New York City. There was a little known band on tour with them. Golem
` I don't remember zacklee .... but most prolly the Boston Pops or Boston Symphony Orch, and definitely at Tanglewood. I've never seen a concert a Symphony Hall. First rock concert ? I wonder is it a concert when you see the Jefferson Aiplane, even if it's in a small venue like a coffeee house ? Or maybe Taj Mahal. He always did a lotta free stuff in the park .... thaz dee-fernettlee really a concert, right ? First giant arena venue concert ? I saw this cool band, Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys, at the Syracuse War Memorial Auditorium. Great band, but they weren't the headliner. Headliner was some boring bozo with a skreatchie geetar, Henderson or Hendrix or whatever. You knew he was the headliner cuzza his giant 'Fro. Thaz how you knew, back in the day ...... LAST giant arena venue concert ? Easy .... same one. Once is once more than too much of more than enuf of that stuff. `

dROK83
My first concert was technically Cher back in the 80's, but i was like 3 or 4. My 1st real Rock concert was Carlos Santana back in the mid 90's. I think it was 94-95, I was 11 or 12 right after I started playing guitar. It was freakin awesome. Also, the people in front of me were smoking a joint, so that might have been my 1st contact high as well, although I can't be sure.
Zonkers
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers during their "Damn the Torpedoes" tour. Won some tix from WLUP in Chicago (got 3 instead of 2 due to them sticking together) The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened for them, and if I remember right, they got booed off the stage. I was young and stupid back then, and wanted to hear "Refugee".
