Riffster
I paid $2,850 for my 1958 Les Paul reissue, new. Then I had the neck shaped to my exact liking for $240. I could have paid less for one of these but this one was the color I wanted and the top is interesting. Next is my SG 24 at $1,200, new. Explorer $935 new, Les Paul Vintage Mahogany $900, new, this is the only one I paid full price, it was my first Gibson.
charlie brown
The vast majority of my guitars, Gibson or otherwise, were purchased under, to way under, a "Grand!" They've shot up, in value, over the years...but, it was never my intention, to spend a lot, to get an "investment" instrument. I bought them, because I liked/loved them, at the time, and wanted to play them! It's nice, they've all gone up, in value (in some cases, amazingly so)...but, that was never my goal, per se'. Riffster
^^ me too, out of curiosity. I saw one at the Memphis Gibson Showcase, I made a bee line for it but it had a "sold, do not touch" sign and was behind a rope....sigh

bigtim
I'll let you guess. It's a 25th Anniversary PRS Custom 24 10 top: Well how about $4897.00? Is that anywhere close?
canon_mutant
Paid $4999 for the 50th R9 in my sig and avatar. But that's $1000 less than they were selling for thanks to a buddy who got me his employee discount as a birthday gift. But the R9 and I only turn 50 once and both in 2009 so WTF . . . otherwise it's impossible to cost justify and I'd gladly take a Traditional or Classic Custom for <$2K. No regrets though! charlie brown
This one, is the guitar I've spent the most on, to date. And, at the time I bought it (new), it was $400 less, than the ES-335 was selling for. Gibson, has since "corrected" that. CB
