bigtim
I have always had one laying around. The past few years I have only used a Music Man USA Sterling 4H. 2003 Musicman Sterling USA 4H https://imgur.com/gallery/MQDaegj 2003 Musicman Sterling USA 4H https://imgur.com/gallery/MQDaegj I found a good deal on a Fender Japan Foto flame 62 Precision Reissue recently and bought it. It has some kind of film laminate on by Fuji that looks like flammed maple. It is a very nice bass. 1994 Fender Japan Fotoflame 62 Precision Reissue https://imgur.com/gallery/9V7cd7b Fotoflame neck https://imgur.com/gallery/Y1gQjkN Then I bought an American Jazz Deluxe. Always wanted a jazz bass. This one is a hot rod. American Deluxe Jazz Bass https://imgur.com/gallery/xKpUXNw Maybe I am going haywire with it maybe but am digging playing bass for a change. It is fun. Edited May 20, 2021 by bigtim
DanvillRob
Played a Fender Jazz Bass when I was playing out. I currently (and for the last 30 years) have a Fender P-Bass.
mihcmac
During my bass days I had quite a few US, German and Asian but my favorite was a Japan Made Ibanez SR800. Edited May 20, 2021 by mihcmac

zigzag
I bought a Fender MIM Jazz bass a few years ago and installed Fralin Jazz pickups. Then bought a Carvin MB210 bass amp to power it. Love them all, but don't play them like I should. I tried to attach a photo, but this stoopid forum said the size was too big. Retired
I have never touched a bass nor learned how. However, I can play both the 6 and 12 string guitars. I would love to learn the Bass as well. 4 strings can't be that bad are they? Is it like the top 4 strings of a 6?

rct
04 American Standard Jazz, Transparent Sunset Orange. It is the best put together, best painted, best sounding guitar I have ever owned in my life. I waited 6-7 months for it, and it went right out to the docks in back and off to my house. Worth every minute. rct Edited May 21, 2021 by rct

I cannot remember the group we saw a few decades back but they had a bass player that was totally awesome. I have heard hundred's of them but this guy excelled them all. Wish I could remember him? sparquelito
In my band, I rarely trade off guitar duties for bass playing, but when I do, I have to make sure I can do justice to the songs. I have three electric basses; 2003 MIM Fender Precision Bass (similar to Brian Wilson's) 2000 ESP LTD B-50 and, a locally crafted home-build fretless bass. All are precious to me, especially the old black LTD. It was a favorite of our dearly departed bass player Bob. (He got off the drum kit to play bass on just a few songs, and when he did, it was a treat for all concerned.) Here's Bob rocking some Steve Miller Band.

ksdaddy
1983 Fender Precision Bass (in pewter metallic). Typical of the era....pots dated 1981, 1983 top load body, 1983 neck date with 1979 serial number on the headstock. Fullerton was cleaning out the dusty shelves. 1981 Gibson Victory (in metallic red) Weighs as much as a spinet piano. 1981 mystery bass (strange Bernie Rico Jr type thing that nobody on the planet can tell me anything about) 1990s Crate P-Style (non functioning wall art that was salvaged from a manslaughter scene) 2001 Engelhardt EC-1 upright bass I'm not a bass player. I'm a noodler and a very bad one at that. My Precision is my go-to. One of the coils was rewound by our very own Searcy.

StRanger7032
G&L Fullerton Deluxe JB, built to spec. This will most likely be the bass I keep forever. I had a Gibson EB-5, but the 5th string rarely seemed useful and was more often an annoyance.

Some bassists tune a bit lower especially if they have a 5-string.

Brucebubs
Bought my Rick from 'Olivia's Vintage' in the USA and shipped it here to Australia. They packaged it beautifully and did a superb set-up.
